Madame Tussauds Wax Museum was founded by Marie Tussaud, a native of Strasbourgh, France. She learned the art of sculpting from her mother’s employer, Dr. Philippe Curtius, a physician skilled in the art of wax modeling.
Though the museum collection is composed mainly of royal members, politicians and revolutionaries’ sculptures, Madame Tussauds has become a center of cultural attraction attracting millions with the addition of athletes, scientists and musicians. Madame Tussauds Istanbul, the 21st branch of the museum, opened its doors in 2016.
The wax sculpture museum operates within the Grand Pera Shopping Center on İstiklal Street, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Beyoglu. The best option to get there is taking a short walk from Taksim square. Because it’s so easy to reach with buses, minibuses and metro services that are available from almost every corner of Istanbul.
The unique collection of the museum is divided into five categories: music, sports, science and culture, VIP party, history and leaders.

The place where you can see the sculptures the popular names of the world of cinema and television is the VIP Party section. In this section, such as Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, Beren Saat, Demet Akbağ, Julia Roberts, Johhny Depp, Brad Pitt etc. Hollywood the world famous names are accompanied by such names.
