Magical Beach of Western Black Sea: Agva

Agva is a town located between the two steams on the Black Sea coast. It also offers alternatives such as fishing in the river and canoeing or kayaking, along with a wonderful natural beauty.

The word “Agva“, which means “village between two streams” in Latin, is a seaside town on the shores of the Black Sea, just like the Sile on its side. Situated between the Goksu and Yesilcay steams, the area is only 115 kilometers away from Istanbul.

Especially in the region which is very popular in recent years, it is possible to find many lodgings and restaurants around there. In fact, the local people usually livelihood like this.

In Agva you can enjoy sandal boats on the surrounding villages, or you can choose kayak and sea bike. If you are a crowded group, you can go fishing with a boat. Let’s just say that you can swim in the rivers surrounding the town. You can also jump in to the cool waters of the Black Sea.

Agva keeps attracting its guests with not only its natural beauty and also with its historical works. You can visit the Romanesque churches and tombstones in Kalemkoy and Gurlek and Inkese Caves in Hacili Village. Christians shelter themselves in that caves from the wrath of the Romans for a long time. The castle reduces in Hisartepe and the mountain mill in Sungurlu are among the historical places you must see.

Reaching to Agva

If you will go with your car follow Umraniye – Sile way. After Sile, follow Kabanoz, Imranli and Kurfalli. You will be in Agva in an hour and a half.

If you want to go by bus, you can reach Agva safely with Sile-Agva buses that leave every hour from Uskudar.
